Slo-Mo #2

Slo-Mo #2

Our Assignment this week was to use the effects of slow shutter speed and camera movement to master panning and light painting. I tried to create abstraction by using these techniques. I used textures in a few of my photographs to darken and add theme. Through my photos I demonstrated the patterns of light and movement. I use black and white on a few of my photos to add depth. I added the cloud texture and the sky texture and then took away all the color to add a interesting complexion to a few of my photos. In one one of my photos I added a smudge texture and then erased it from the subject to make the subject stand out. Overall, I think this series was successful in creating abstraction.

Double Exposure

Double Exposure

Our assignment this week was to create dreamlike, or memory-like, images by layering two images together. I used photos I took during the reflection unit and combined them with trees and nature. I also used city scape photos and combined them with portraits. I edited all my final photographs into black and white for a cohesive surface. I also added black borders to tie the photos together.

Reflections

Reflections

Our assignment this week was to explore reflections. I tried to capture details from inside the window as well as from outside, depending on where I was positioned taking the photograph. The photos were more successful when I use the reflective surfaces to create an artistic echo of a scene. I began with using shop windows and car windows. As I became more confident with this project I turned to reflections on technology screens and puddles. They created interesting textures and dynamics. I edited all my photos into black and white to make cohesive surfaces. I posted thirteen photographs that I'm proud of.
